About the Artist

Mary Whalley is a New Zealand-born artist, now based in Portugal. Her diverse portfolio showcases an evolving artistic journey, beginning with conceptual and sculptural public art projects focused on community building. She also dedicated years to art education, teaching children and other educators in years spent living in London.

Currently, Whalley explores various printmaking techniques, creating pieces inspired by her experiences as a foreigner. A keen observer of urban details and things that grow, these elements often feature in her work. She continues to foster community through regular printmaking events.
